A Little House In Rechavia

Rechavia is one of the most pleasant neighborhoods in Jerusalem, established during the British Mandate period. While walking through the neighborhood, you might stumble upon the neighborhood’s windmill, the old Prime Minister’s office, the Secondary School, and much more… But I’m not here to tell you about the things you can see in Rechavia. No, I’m here to tell you about a place where you can stay in Rechavia, and that place is calledA Little House in Rechavia“!

Last week I’ve spent a night in this hotel with my family. It’s a small hotel in one of the houses in Rechavia, in the middle of the neighborhood. We got a huge family room on the second floor, with two double beds and one single bed. But before talking about the room, let’s talk about the lobby.

The moment we entered, a wonderful aroma filled our noses. The man at the reception desk was very friendly and made sure that we know all about the Wi-Fi, the breakfast, and the tea and coffee station, which is available 24 hours a day. While my Dad was finishing the check-in, I took a look at the hotel’s notice board. It was covered with useful information: a list of restaurants open on Shabbat, nearby synagogues, an explanation about Israeli money, a notice about discounts for the hotel guests…

Then we made our way up the stairs and found that there were some really nice quotations framed on the wall. We found some more on the walls of some of the corridors.

So back to the room – it was great, quite clean, and very roomy. It had a TV with cables, a huge closet, a safety deposit box, a desk, and a small fridge. The shower room had a tub in it and there were shampoo tubes and soaps. So… I have no complaint.

We slept fine and woke up the next morning for breakfast (which is from 7:30 to 10:00). We were surprised by the nice variety of food: omelet, eggs, yogurts, two types of cereal, many types of salads, apples, watermelon, cheese, jams and bread. There were also some juices. We sat outdoors, in the hotel’s front yard, and enjoyed our breakfast. Then we checked out.

So… How much should this cost you? Yeah, it’s not a hotel, so don’t expect a very cheap price, but “A Little House in Rechavia” is one of the cheapest hotels in Jerusalem. So if you’re into hotels and less interested in hostels, this is the hotel for you! It’s advised to book this hotel close to your visiting dates, as the prices usually sink then.
